The video, shot at the Dojo of a former marine named Bobby Joe Blythe, in the early 80's in Dumfries, Virginia, apparently shows the brutal murder of a mentally retarded man who claims Jesus taught him Karate. Blythe instructs one of his students to 'teach him a lesson' and boy do they ever.
But in an incredible series of events the video and its insane popularity led police in Hanford, California (where Blythe now resides) to suspect Blythe and the black belt of murder and open up a 'cold case!'
However the Post reports today that the man is not dead, but was simply beaten half to death as it were. A local Dumfries cop told the Post he saw the man in the days after the brutal beating.
"You could tell he had been beaten severely," Feldbush said. "He wasn't very cooperative and didn't want to pursue charges."
So the "cold case" is closed.
But it's still pretty sick that they beat this guy near death for fun in a Karate Dojo in Dumfries Virginia of all places. Watching too much Karate Kid, I suppose.
If anything this just proves that as long as the cameras are rolling you can never ever escape justice. Even nearly 30 years later. I'm sure everyone involved in this video never expected to see this type of reaction. Internet wins again.
UPDATE: It turns out Bobby Joe Blythe was the YouTube user who posted the video in the first place! When the response got too much for him to handle he deleted his YouTube account but it was too late. The video, and his comments had been posted all across the internet.
UPDATE II: International news has caught on. France 24 reports that in a "first for the internet" hackers discovered the identities and personal information (addresses, phone numbers, rap-sheets) of all the parties involved in this video (including the black belt student, Willie Dennis) tipped off local, state and federal authorities, and posted this information on message boards across the internet.
The guilty parties scrambled to delete their Facebook and Myspace pages only to have the archived pages posted as jpeg versions.

That is some scary shit...listen to his breathing after that last impact. I wouldn't be surprised if they needed to supply an emergency airway
As a 55 year old practitioner of full-contact martial arts, Kyokushin-kaikan, Ashihara, Enshin and Jushindo, I find this to be one of the most low life chicken-s't, things I have ever seen! That the "black belt" dished out to the man who didn't want to fight him in the first place. The man cried "uncle," and even after he knocked him down, he kept at him, f'n low life b'st'rd! He should come to my dojo if he wants to fight full contact so he can be in an equal playing field. I think charges should STILL be filed, my guess is that the other man was bi-polar or schizophrenic, and psychotically delusional, and unable to make a solid decision in this matter. What would really be cool is that some attorney get a-hold of him, and run a civil case through, then we would really see a BEATING! LOL
Either you're badly informed or just stupid. This Blythe fellow trained and had the local police chiefs wife on his payroll. Of course some "redneck lowlife cop" would say that to please his boss.
Where is the proo? I guess Blythe and his black blackbelt are rather old by now but i'd love to se them in "the cage" stomped to death by some Ukranian monster K1 fighter
I think it was racisim cause of the white guy was in charge and the victim was black just like the slave days when the white bosses would best up the blacks

I call bullshit to seeing him a couple of days later. His breathing after the head stomp screams something completely different to anyone who has ever worked in the medical profession. One of the females in the video was in fact the sheriffs wife. So seeing a local cop and having heard they saw him a couple of days later, bullshit. he'd be in the hospital for a while after that beating.
You are an idiot...
I want to learn Karate as a self defense.
